Accessible and Specialized Transit

The current mask mandate for public transit expires as of June 11, 2022 at 12:00AM. As a result, it will no longer be mandatory for transit passengers to wear masks while on the vehicle. We know our riders have mixed feelings about the mandate ending. Some people may continue to wear a mask for added safety, while others may choose not to. We ask everyone to be respectful of others’ masking choices.

Limo Specialized Transit

LIMO Specialized Transit is a shared door to door public transit service for people with physical or functional disabilities who are not able to use conventional public transit. It operates in the town of Lindsay. Below, we have provided the LIMO Specialized Transit User Guide and the Two part application form in accessible format.

You must complete a two part application form before you can use LIMO Specialized Transit. You can fill out section A of the form yourself and must have your health care professional fill out section B. Use the contact information on the back of the form to send your finished application to the Transit office.

Hours of Operation

Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm and Sunday from 9am to 4pm. There is no service on the following statutory holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Good Friday
  • Victoria Day
  • Canada Day
  • Civic Holiday
  • Labour Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Service Disruption

In the event of a service disruption affecting LIMO Specialized Transit Clients that is known in advance or on short notice, alternate accessible arrangements are provided and the information on the alternate arrangement is communicated in a manner that is accessible including, but not limited to, telephone, text or email.

  • If you are ordering your monthly pass online, please order well in advance as we will mail your pass to the address provided.  Mail delivery will take between 7-10 days.

To Our Valued LIMO Specialized Transit Clients

 Lindsay Transit Services are happy to announce the launch of two new tools that can help to make keeping track of and booking transportation a lot more convenient.

Tool 1: LIMO Alerts - Trip Notifications

 You can now sign up to get notifications about upcoming trips, directly from our automated service “LIMO Alerts”. There is a variety of options available.  For example, because we know exactly where our vehicles are, you can receive an automatic call, text, or email when your ride is about to arrive.  You can also receive confirmation of bookings and cancellations as well as others to help you keep organized.

 Ways to receive Notifications:

  • Email
  • Text message
  • Phone call
  • A combination of all three

Pick the type or types of notification that works best for you. Even on a per trip basis. Types of Notifications are:

  • Confirmation of Booking
  • Confirmation of Cancellation
  • Reminder the Night Before (currently between 5 and 7 pm)
  • Imminent Arrival – “your ride is arriving shortly”
  • Confirmation of Trip Change
  • No Show Receipt

Tool 2: LIMO Booking Portal - Online Passenger Portal

Managing your trips, your personal information and monitoring the approach of your vehicle is incredibly easy using the new passenger portal. As a LIMO Client you have already been added to the system, therefore only a few simple steps to activating Passenger Portal are required.

You, or your designated delegate, can:

  • View upcoming trips
  • Request a new trip
  • Edit or cancel a scheduled trip
  • Get accurate ETAs of approaching vehicle
  • Manage your personal profile
