Historic records and archives
Many historic public records and ancestry researching tools are available in the Reference Section of the Kawartha Lakes Public Library Lindsay branch.
You can make an appointment to view documents or artifacts not located at the Library by contacting the Records Centre. It stores permanent Municipal records for the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Caring for your family archives
Are you interested in preserving your family history and keeping cherished memories intact for future generations?
Back by popular demand, join Angela Fornelli, Manager of Corporate Records and Archival Services for Kawartha Lakes, for the Caring for your family archives workshop. This workshop dives into range of topics to give you the knowledge and skills to care and conserve your family archives, in an era where the preservation of digital and physical records is increasingly crucial.
The workshop will take place on March 27, 2025 from 3pm to 5:30pm at the Lindsay Library (190 Kent St W, Lindsay, ON K9V 2Y6). This is a free event and space is limited, so we encourage early registration to secure your spot.
Update The March 27 workshop is now full. A second workshop date has been added due to popular demand. Register online (below) for the second workshop, on April 10 from 3pm to 5:30pm at the Lindsay Library.

2024 Workshops
In 2024, Angela Fornelli, Manager of Corporate Records and Archival Services for Kawartha Lakes, hosted a free Caring for your family archives workshop. This workshop gave attendees the knowledge and skills to care and preserve their own family archives.
The workshop was featured in Season 2, Episode 20 of Spotlight Kawartha, Cable Cable channel #26 and Rogers Ignite channel #548.
