Starting in January 2018, all provincially-funded child and family programs will be offered under a single umbrella: EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
EarlyON centres offer free drop-in programs for caregivers and children from birth to 6 years old. You can learn and play with your child, meet people or get advice.
When you come to EarlyON drop-in programs, you'll find:
- Children learning, playing, being curious, and making friends
- Parents exploring and learning with their children in safe, healthy, and engaging play
- Support, friendship, advice, and connections to other community services
Locally there are five goals that EarlyON is pursuing right now:
- Increasing summer programs - Programming will be regular and consistent throughout the year, including the summer months.
- More Saturday programs - There will be more locations open on Saturdays throughout the year.
- Expand weekly programs to more communities - Weekly EarlyON programs are being planned in more communities that currently do not have service.
- Enhancing drop-in programs - Elements of parent education programs such as Mother Goose for infants, Fit Kids and Infant Massage will be made available within many of the new and existing drop-in programs.
- Adding more hours of service - An increase in the number of EarlyON hours of service across the County of Haliburton and the City of Kawartha Lakes.
