Fire Department Water Shuttle Certification

Every fire station in Kawartha Lakes has Fire Department Water Shuttle Certification. Firefighters train regularly so that each station will meet the requirements for certification every five years.

Certification means that:

  • Firefighters at each station are able to supply at least 1900 L of water per minute continuously for two hours;
  • Residents living within 8 km of a fire station may receive an insurance discount;
  • Businesses located within 5 km of a fire station may receive an insurance discount.
