Fire Stations and Master Fire Plan

The Master Fire Plan outlines our vision, goals and direction for the years to come. Goals of the plan are to:

  • Ensure the Fire Service meets all legislated requirements under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act;
  • Document fire risks in the municipality;
  • Provide an outline of the Fire Service mission and core business activities;
  • Ensure the department has the right amount of resources available at the right time.

The Master Fire Plan benefits the municipality by allowing us to:

  • Plan ahead to continue to meet the City's need for the delivery of fire services;
  • Give Council the tools they need to understand how the City's Fire Service compares with the industry standard;
  • Help Council understand and plan for risks that exist in the City;
  • Provide an appropriate level of service that is efficient and cost effective;
  • Reduce insurance costs for homeowners, businesses and the City by improving our fire protection grading.

For more information about the delivery of fire services you can read the Fire Service Station Location Study.
