Childhood dream home becomes a reality amid pandemic for Paulette Sopoci
In February 2021, Sopoci made the move from her Riverdale, Toronto home to return to her roots in Kawartha Lakes. She purchased what’s known as the Janetville Mansion and The Doctor’s House, a four bedroom Victorian home on five acres in the rolling hills of Manvers.
Sopoci grew up on a farm in Janetville and she saw the mansion on the bus every day on her way home from school, and dreamed of living there. Now she’s made it a reality, thanks to a widening acceptance of remote work. Sopoci is excited to be returning home to Kawartha Lakes after years in Toronto working for an entrepreneurial coaching company, Strategic Coach, and developing Skin Radiance, the skin care line she represents. Her work has involved international travel to cities such as London and New York.
Working remotely has proven that results are the same regardless of where she works.
“This move will bring my family together. My mom, who passed away in August 2020, would be thrilled to know that the girls are all gathering back in Janetville. It’s like she’s passed the baton of being the home base of the family to me.”
Sopoci notes that working remotely has proven to her employer that results are the same regardless of where she works. It’s the flexibility to work from home that has made moving to Kawartha Lakes possible. She’s already received a warm welcome from the community and looks forward to giving back to the small community that is now one of Ontario’s fastest growing real estate markets.
