Mayor and Council

As a single-tier municipality, Kawartha Lakes is governed by City Council consisting of the Mayor and one councillor from each of the City's wards. Residents elect members of Council to serve four-year terms in office.

City of Kawartha Lakes Council

The current City Council was elected on October 27, 2014. The newly elected Council will be sworn in on December 3, 2018.

Your Mayor

The Mayor's Office offers certificates of congratulations to Kawartha Lakes residents celebrating milestone birthdays or anniversaries in our community. To Request a Certificate or Congratulations click here.

The Mayor's Office also receives invitations for the Mayor and/or councillors to attend significant events in the community. Please try to give us as much notice as possible as there are many events in Kawartha Lakes and, although they regret they cannot attend them all, the Mayor and councillors do want to attend as many as possible.
