All park amenities closedKawartha Lakes – To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Kawartha Lakes closed all park amenities on March 27. Following the province’s direction, we have since expanded that list and closed all outdoor recreational amenities.

These amenities include, but are not limited to:

  • Playgrounds
  • Sports fields
  • Sports courts
  • Skateboard parks
  • Picnic areas
  • Outdoor exercise equipment
  • Washroom facilities
  • Beaches
  • Park shelters
  • Public gardens
  • Boat launches

We remind residents that public gatherings are not permitted on municipal property and all gatherings of 5 persons or more are prohibited. Green spaces in parks, trails, ravines and conservation areas that are not otherwise closed remain open for walkthrough access, however a physical distance of at least two metres (six feet) must be maintained at all times.

To report non-compliance in Lindsay/Ops please contact Kawartha Lakes Police Service (KLPS) at 705-324-5252. Areas outside Lindsay/Ops should report to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) at 1-888-310-1122.
