Aquatic Programming returns to Lindsay Recreation Complex


SwimmerKawartha Lakes - Aquatic programming is set to return to the Lindsay Recreation Complex this fall under strict new COVID-19 safety protocols.

Starting October 13, aquatic programming will be available for Pre-School and School Age levels. Aquatic Leadership and Aqua Fitness/Water Therapy Classes will also be offered. Fall will also see the introduction of "Social Bubble" lessons, these classes are designed for individuals who are either in the same family or the same "social bubble".

In addition to physical distancing guidelines the number of swimmers will be limited and participants will be required to adhere to specific COVID-19 pool rules:

  • In order to minimize the number of people in the Change Rooms, participants are asked to come showered, changed and ready to swim whenever possible.
  • All Pre-School, School Age, Private and Social Bubble sessions will be 30 minutes in length.
  • All Aqua Fitness/Water Therapy classes will be 45 minutes in length.
  • Swim Kids five through ten will have a maximum of five participants per class.
  • Swim Kids four and under and all Pre-School sessions will be offered in the form of Private or Social Bubble lessons only.
  • Social Bubble lessons will consist of a minimum of two kids with a maximum of five kids per session.
  • Instructors will teach from the deck at all times; in the event they must enter the water for demonstrations, this will be done with the class on the pool deck.
  • No equipment will be used for lessons at this time.
  • Only one parent/guardian per child will be permitted in the water with the child during Parent and Tot classes.
  • Only one parent/guardian per child will be allowed as a spectator on the pool deck.
  • All participants will be required to sign in at the Front Desk prior to heading to the class.
  • Patrons and participants must follow the directional signage throughout the facility and pool deck area.
  • As per public health standards, all participants and patrons will be required to wear a mask or face covering while in the facility (with the exception of while in the pool).
