Artist John McQuade featured at City Hall
Kawartha Lakes – The work of John McQuade, founder and teacher of Nalanda Miksang Photography and AbsoluteEye Photography, will be displayed throughout April at City Hall. Everyone is invited to visit City Hall at 26 Francis Street in Lindsay to enjoy more than 20 pieces by the photographer.
John McQuade, a resident of Omemee, is an artist who began his Miksang photography practice in 1983 and has since been exhibited in Toronto, Vermont and Halifax. Miksang is a form of contemplative photography that asks the viewer to look at the world in a new way. As the principle Miksang teacher in Toronto, McQuade has published a book presenting the main practices of Nalanda Miksang. His favourite part of being an artist in Kawartha Lakes is being able to capture the beautiful environment and landscapes.
The exhibition at City Hall includes 21 modern photography pieces.
McQuade’s show is a part of the SPARK Photo Festival this month, which runs throughout the Northumberland, Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes regions. “As part of the festival, it’s great to present my work in City Hall,” McQuade adds.
