Kawartha Lakes – This week is Paramedic Services Week. From May 18 to May 24, please join us in recognizing the Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service for everything they do for our community.
Paramedic Services Week is a national recognition of the critical role paramedics play in our health care system — responding to emergencies, providing advanced medical care, and offering comfort and reassurance during life’s most challenging moments.
In a message to the community and the team, Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service Chief Sara Johnston shared her heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated professionals who serve on the front lines every day:
“During Paramedic Services Week, I want to take a moment to thank every member of our team for the incredible work you do every day. Your skill, compassion, and dedication make a real difference in the lives of so many. I feel truly lucky and honoured to work alongside such an amazing group of people. Thank you for everything you do — not just this week, but all year long.
From responding to 9-1-1 calls to supporting public health efforts, paramedics consistently go above and beyond. This week, we encourage everyone in our community to take a moment to thank a paramedic and recognize the essential role they play in keeping us all safe.”
Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service staff will be taking part in various staff appreciation events and volunteer opportunities throughout the week.
As a part of the celebrations, the municipality will be recognizing paramedics staff for exemplary acts in the community at the Regular Council Meeting on Tuesday May 20 at 1pm. Tune in live on the City of Kawartha Lakes YouTube channel.
