Notice of Public Hearing for Minor Variance
Take notice, that the Committee of Adjustment of the City of Kawartha Lakes will hold a Public Meeting on May 16, 2019 at 1:00pm in the Council Chambers City Hall, 26 Francis Street, Lindsay, Ontario, to consider minor variance/permission applications D20-2019-014, D20-2019-021. A number of applications will be considered at this meeting. The applications are considered in the order that they appear on the Agenda and it may take some time before an application is dealt with at the meeting. The minor variance/permission applications being considered are listed below:
D20-2019-014 – 2173 Elm Tree Road, Part East 1/2 Lot 3, Concession 1, Part 1, 57R-6378, geographic Township of Fenelon, Ward 3, now in the City of Kawartha Lakes – To consider relief under Section 45(1) of the Planning Act, R.S.O., as amended, from the Township of Fenelon Zoning By-law 12-95, as amended. The purpose and effect is to request relief to permit a detached garage within a front yard instead of an interior side or rear yard.
D20-2019-021 – 18 Baker Boulevard, Part of Lots 22 and 23, Concession 1, Part Shore Road Allowance, , Part 4, RP 57R-3775, geographic Township of Laxton-Digby-Longford, Ward 1, now in the City of Kawartha Lakes – To consider relief under Section 45(1) of the Planning Act, R.S.O., as amended, from the Township of Laxton-Digby-Longford Zoning By-law 32-82, as amended. The purpose and effect is to request relief from the following zone provisions in order to permit the construction of additions to a single-storey detached dwelling thus:
- to reduce the minimum side yard requirement from 3 metres to 2.1 metres on one side of the lot (Southside) in order to permit the construction of supplementary living space; and
- to reduce the minimum side yard requirement from 1.3 metres to 1.2 metres on the opposite side of the lot (Northside) in order to permit the construction of an attached garage.
Any person may attend the hearing and/or make written comments to the City of Kawartha Lakes, Committee of Adjustment, 180 Kent Street West, Lindsay, Ontario, K9V 2Y6, either in support of, or in opposition to the proposed Minor Variances or Permission.
The Committee will make a decision according to information or evidence received before and during the hearing.
Any person or persons who wish to be notified of the recommendation and/or the decision with respect to these applications must appear in person or by counsel at the Public Hearing and in addition, request in writing from the Secretary-Treasurer copies of the decision of the Committee of Adjustment.
Additional information regarding these applications will be available for public inspection at Development Services – Planning Division, Lindsay Service Centre, 180 Kent Street West, Lindsay, Ontario during regular office hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
