Early boaters urged to take it slow while water levels are high
Kawartha Lakes – In light of the high levels of all lakes and rivers across Kawartha Lakes, the municipality is urging boaters to use discretion and be wary of shoreline damage resulting from high speeds. The high water poses serious risk to boaters from debris floating on top and just under the surface of the water. Additionally, slowing down will reduce wakes and lessen damage to shorelines.
“We thank our boating community for slowing down the next little while until water levels return to normal. It will help keep everyone safe and our shorelines in good condition,” commented Mayor Andy Letham.
