Have your say on the Bobcaygeon Beach Park Redevelopment project
Kawartha Lakes – The Bobcaygeon Beach Park Redevelopment open house, held on June 21 from 6pm to 8pm at the Bobcaygeon/Verulam Community Centre, was attended by over 175 people. Members of the community gathered to share their thoughts and ideas about the new redevelopment project.
The open house focused on the conceptual design of Bobcaygeon Beach Park, the importance of water recreation to the community and how the design meets accessibility guidelines and public space standards.
Representatives from Landscape Planning Limited attended the meeting and presented the first Master Plan draft of the Bobcaygeon Beach Park redesign, which is now available on the City’s website. Highlights of this draft include a recreational water sports dock, a lookout, a multi-use pathway and a community event area. The consultants also received and answered a variety of questions from the public.
The City of Kawartha Lakes encourages residents to provide feedback on the first Master Plan draft through completing the City’s online comment form by Friday July 6. The public’s input is a key component of this design. After all comments have been considered, the project will move into a more detailed scoping process and costs will be brought forward.
