Child with alpacaKawartha Lakes - On Saturday October 5, from 10am to 4pm, take part in the popular annual Kawartha Farmfest, including the ‘doors open’, self-driving tour of family farms, farmers’ markets and countryside attractions. This all-ages event offers a chance to taste and experience the best local food and farming. Don’t miss your opportunity to pet animals, participate in hands-on activities and hand-pick a selection of local specialties for your Thanksgiving dinner the following weekend.

“Farmfest is a unique event for people to learn more about local food and farming in Kawartha Lakes,” said Kelly Maloney, Agriculture Development Officer. “New this year is a chance to see wool fleece made into yarn. On the day of the event, don’t forget to pick up a Kawartha Farmfest Passport to collect stamps at each location you visit. Completed passports will be entered to win a prize basket of Kawartha Farmfest goods!”
