Kawartha Lakes is painting the town red and white with overwhelming response to decorating kits

Firefighter holding mini Canadian Flag kitKawartha Lakes – In just 24 hours the municipality has run out of its miniature Canadian Flag decorating kits for Canada Day. Thank you to everyone for the overwhelming response and for your orders. Your decorating kits will be dropped off in the next few days and we look forward to seeing how you put them to use.

Although we’ve exceeded our supply of decorating kits, our Canada Day the 2020 Way campaign is still in full swing. Those looking to take part can still join in on the singing of Oh Canada and show their spirit:

  • Video your friends and family singing Oh Canada by a local landmark, on a lake or in a boat, at your favourite patio, your home or anywhere it’s safe to do so. Upload your videos for a chance to be featured in our Canada Day video.
  • Take photos and videos of your Canada Day spirit using hashtag #KawarthaLakesStrong for a chance to be featured in the video.

We’ve had a great response so far, but there's still lots of time to take part. From social circle barbecues to patriotic lawn décor, we can’t wait to see the creative ways you are planning to celebrate Canada Day this year.

We’ll be releasing the Kawartha Lakes Canada Day video on social media and participating media outlets on July 1. Stayed tuned and watch and share the video with us on Canada Day.
