Kawartha Lakes recognizes Veterans Week, November 5-11

Kawartha Lakes –  Every year on November 11, we honour the sacrifices made by Canadian men and women to protect the rights and freedoms we cherish today. Flags will be lowered to half-mast at City Hall, Municipal Service Centres and Logie Park on Remembrance Day.

We recognize Veterans’ Week from November 5-11, and Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8. We also remain mindful of those families who have come to Kawartha Lakes after fleeing war and conflict around the world. Thank you to our school boards for teaching young Canadians, most of whom have never experienced war, how to pay their respects. Resources are available for all ages at the Veterans Affairs Canada website.

Members of the public are invited to gather safely at the following events. Please respect all health and safety protocols.
