Kawartha Lakes residents to be congratulated on successful curbside battery collection

This is excellent news to share as we celebrate Earth Week. Batteries contain heavy metals like mercury and cadmium. Collecting batteries ensures we keep these harmful materials out of our landfills and from being dispersed into the environment. Additionally, we are reducing the total volume going into our landfills.

Our next battery pickup event will be during the week of November 5-9 when we change the clocks back for daylight savings time.

Used batteries (1.5 V, 6 V and 9V) can be dropped off at any Municipal Service Centre or at the Household Hazardous waste depots at the Lindsay Ops and Fenelon Landfills.
