“This week offers people a chance to get out of their comfort zone and try out new activities without committing to taking the full program,” explains Tracey Cooper, Community Development Coordinator at the City of Kawartha Lakes. “We are excited to offer a wide range of activities including scuba diving, ballroom dancing, boot camp, and urban poling.”
Those wishing to participate are asked to sign up for classes in advance at the front desk of the Lindsay Recreation Complex. Registrants will receive a “Passport to Activity” and earn stamps each time they try something new. There are prizes to be won from the City of Kawartha Lakes and Boston Pizza.
The public is also invited to attend the Fresh Fuel Healthy Families Expo Saturday, October 1 at the Lindsay Exhibition Grounds. The Expo will feature health and fitness professionals, kids sports teams and activities, mental health agencies and much more.
