Kawartha Lakes – Anticipation is building as Lindsay prepares for the arrival of the Rogers Hometown Hockey tour. The Festival Tour will take place at the Lindsay Recreation Complex in Lindsay on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24 with a live broadcast during the Toronto versus Columbus hockey game on Monday October 25.
As part of the Hometown celebration, the façade of the Lindsay Recreation Complex will be temporarily transformed to celebrate this monumental event and will feature a design installation of images of local hockey players both past and present.
Kawartha Lakes residents are being invited to join in on the fun and have an opportunity to have their hockey card photo featured on the building.
Local hometown hockey players, past and present, are being asked to submit a copy of their hockey card (the one that usually comes with the team/individual photo packages) to the Kawartha Lakes Parks, Recreation and Culture Division for an opportunity to be featured in the design concept. Please note, that if submitting a hard copy of the photo, the card will not be returned.
Submission should be aware that the image will be used for public purposes and will be visible to the public on the exterior of the Lindsay Recreation Complex.
Hard copies of hockey card submissions can be dropped off at the Lindsay Recreation Complex front desk located at 133 Adelaide Street in Lindsay until Thursday October 14.
Digital copies may also be submitted up until October 14 via e-mail to: communitydevelopment@kawarthalakes.ca.
