Kawartha Lakes – The Logie Street Park redevelopment, an exciting new project for the municipality, continues to move forward. Throughout the spring months of 2019, the contractor worked on readying the site. Work completed to date includes the striping of top soil which will be stockpiled for future use. Next steps include bringing in engineered fill, as well as beginning site grading and servicing.
In 2018, $4.5 million was devoted to the Logie Street Park redevelopment in the 2019 Budget. Through this reconstruction, a new splash pad, playground and improved parking will be implemented. Additionally, this project will include enhanced trails and the return of the lilac trees. Operations began at Logie Street Park in December of 2017 when the existing lilac shrubs were transported to a local nursery where they will be cared for until they can be replanted. Throughout the next two years, this reconstruction will work towards the goal of creating a beautiful, accessible and active public park.
