Kawartha Lakes – Please note the following changes to the municipality’s hours of operation and service schedules on Monday October 14 (Thanksgiving).
Administrative Offices
All administrative offices and Municipal Service Centres are closed on Monday October 14. Municipal Service Centres will return to regular business hours on Tuesday October 15.
Please note that the Kawartha Lakes Customer Service Division will be closed on Wednesday, October 16 from 8:30am to 12pm for staff training.
As a result, all four Municipal Service Centres (Bobcaygeon, Coboconk, Lindsay and Omemee), along with the municipality’s general inquiry Customer Service phone line will be unavailable during this time. For any municipal emergencies during this closure, please contact 1-877-885-7337.

Waste and Recycling
The Lindsay landfill will be closed on Monday October 14. The Fenelon landfill will be open for their regular scheduled hours on the holiday Monday from 9am to 5pm. The Eldon, Laxton and Somerville landfills will also be open from 11am to 5pm on the holiday Monday.
Please remember that all curbside waste and recycling collection will shift forward a day due to Thanksgiving:
- Monday October 14 collection moves to Tuesday October 15
- Tuesday October 15 collection moves to Wednesday October 16
- Wednesday October 16 collection moves to Thursday October 17
- Thursday October 17 collection moves to Friday October 18

Public Library
All library branches will be closed on Monday October 14, with regular operating hours returning on Tuesday October 15.
October is National Library Month and the third week of October (October 20 to 26) is Ontario Public Library Week, help us celebrate the vital role our public libraries play in enhancing education, fostering literacy, and building community connections in Kawartha Lakes by participating in our library month events. Lindsay Transit
There will be no Lindsay Transit or LIMO Specialized Transit service on Monday October 14.
Regular service will return on Tuesday October 15.
Don’t forget, as of September 29, our Monday to Saturday transit hours have been extended from 7pm to 10pm for both Lindsay Transit and our LIMO Specialized Transit services. Learn more here.
Parks and Recreation
All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed Monday October 14, 2024 for Thanksgiving. This includes the administrative office, all recreation facilities, arenas and pools. Facilities will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday October 15.
Please note that there will be no swimming or fitness classes, lessons and/or programs from Saturday October 12 through Monday October 14.
Looking for something fun to do with the family this holiday weekend? Public swims will be running at the Lindsay Recreation Complex and at the Forbert Memorial Pool in Bobcaygeon on Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13. Public skating will also be available at the Fenelon Falls, Little Britain, Manvers, and Woodville Community Centres, as well as the Lindsay Recreation Complex on Saturday October 12 or Sunday October 13, 2024.
