Municipal notices during Canada Post labour disruption

canada post van with notice of strike

Kawartha Lakes – Beginning November 15, 2024, Canada Post's unionized workers initiated a labor disruption. During this period, please review the following notices to help maintain continuity of service:

Payments from the Human Services Department (Ontario Works)

The first of the month cheques for clients, for the month of November, were sent in the mail as per normal process, during the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2024.

You are welcome to pick up or drop off correspondence or payments that would normally go in the mail by visiting our offices:

City of Kawartha Lakes, Lindsay Office, 68 Lindsay Street North, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 705-324-9870

County of Haliburton, Haliburton Office, 49 Maple Ave, Unit 8, Haliburton 8:30am to 4:30pm. (closed 12pm to 1pm every day), 705-457-4571

Email general inquiries about Human Services to cklhumanservices@kawarthalakes.ca. Additional information is on our website.

Human Services clients are encouraged to register for Direct Bank Deposit (DBD) of their payments. Payments made by DBD help avoid unnecessary travel. Please contact your Client Services Worker for more information.
