Kawartha Lakes – All 2024 Agricultural Burn Permits expired on December 31, 2024. Did you know that you can apply for agricultural burn permits online?

In May 2024, we launched a Public Access Portal for the community to apply for Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service (KLFRS) burn and fireworks permits online.

The online Public Access Portal is a convenient way to apply for agricultural burn permits, regular burn permits, fireworks permits and more fire services without having to leave your home:

Using the Public Access Portal

To use the online portal, all you have to do is create an account, sign in and then start filling out your applications.

If you need assistance registering an account, filling out an application or if you have any questions about the permits themselves, please reach out directly to Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service at 705-324-5731 or email burnpermits@kawarthalakes.ca.

Check out the Public Access Portal How to Guide for more information on how to sign up and use the portal. If you need help applying for a Fire Services application specifically, read the Public Access Portal How to Guide for Fire Services

Do you need help with registering or applying for a permit?

Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service can help you set your account up and apply for permits. Call 705-324-5731 for assistance, or visit Fire Department Station 1 in-person at 9 Cambridge Street North in Lindsay. Keep in mind that KLFRS is unable to accept payments at the Fire Department. If you fill out the application at the Fire Department, you will pay online using a credit card or be given an invoice that you will then have to take to a Municipal Service Centre to make your payment.

The Bobcaygeon, Coboconk and Omemee Service Centres have computers available for public use and Customer Service staff will be available to walk you through creating an account and filling out an application. Please note that while the Lindsay Service Centre is under renovation, the public computer kiosk will not be available to use.

Note: you must have an email address to create an account for the Public Access Portal. If you don’t have an email address, we suggest signing up for one prior to contacting KLFRS or Customer Service to avoid any potential registration delays.
