The Kawartha Lakes Public Library Board is delighted to announce the relocation of the Omemee branch library to 24 King St. East, the former Omemee Hardware Store location.
As part of its Library Services Review process, the Library Board identified the Omemee branch for expansion as its current location in Coronation Hall is too small to meet the library needs of local residents. The new location provides the branch with significantly more area to provide library materials as well as programming space.
In order to facilitate the move, the Omemee branch will be closed on Thursday November 16 and Saturday November 18 with the branch re-opening in the new location on Tuesday November 21 for regular hours of 10am to 2pm. For patrons wishing to visit another library on the closed days the Bethany, Lindsay and Bobcaygeon branches are open on November 16 and 18 and the Dunsford branch is open on November 18.
Omemee residents will be thrilled with the new facilities and we encourage everyone to take this opportunity to discover the many services offered at the public library. Many Kawartha Lakes Public Library branches offer children’s programs and special interest groups such as a book club. If you are interested in helping make these activities happen at the Omemee branch, library staff would be pleased to talk to you. Plans are underway for a grand opening so watch for details.
