Notice of Public Hearing for Minor Variance
Take notice, that the Committee of Adjustment of the City of Kawartha Lakes will hold a Public Meeting on February 15th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 26 Francis Street, Lindsay, Ontario, to consider minor variance/permission applications, D20-2018-006 and D20-2018-009. A number of applications will be considered at this meeting. The applications are considered in the order that they appear on the Agenda and it may take some time before an application is dealt with at the meeting. The minor variance/permission applications being considered are listed below:
D20-2018-006 – 171–183 Kent Street West, Plan 38 Lots 2-7, Pt Lot 8, Plan 57R5785 Pt of Part 1, 57R 7668 Parts 2 and 3 Pt Part 1, former Town of Lindsay, Ward 12, now in the City of Kawartha Lakes – To consider relief under Section 45(1) of the Planning Act, R. S. O., as amended from the Town of Lindsay Zoning By-law 2000-75, as amended. The purpose and effect is to request relief from:
- Section 5.12 k) ii. to reduce the required number of parking spaces from 167 spaces to 67 spaces;
- Section 5.12 c) to reduce the required number of accessible parking spaces from 6 spaces to 2 spaces;
- Section 5.13 a) to reduce the required number of loading spaces from 2 loading spaces to 1 loading space; and
- Section 14.2 b. to reduce the minimum front yard setback from 4.0 m. to 0.0 m.
To permit the construction of a new (replacement) commercial building on the property.
D20-2018-009 – 154 Ball Point Road, Concession C, Part Lot 18, Plan 425, Lot 37, geographic Township of Mariposa, Ward 8, now in the City of Kawartha Lakes – To consider relief under Section 45(1) of the Planning Act, R.S.O., as amended, from the Township of Mariposa Zoning By-law 94-07, as amended. The purpose and effect is to request relief from: Section 14.2.1.4 to reduce the water setback from 30 metres to 21.5 metres to permit the construction of a single detached dwelling and deck on the property.
Any person may attend the hearing and/or make written comments to the City of Kawartha Lakes, Committee of Adjustment, 180 Kent Street West, Lindsay, Ontario, K9V 2Y6, either in support of, or in opposition to the proposed Minor Variances or Permission.
The Committee will make a decision according to information or evidence received before and during the hearing.
Any person or persons who wish to be notified of the recommendation and/or the decision with respect to these applications must appear in person or by counsel at the Public Hearing and in addition, request in writing from the Secretary-Treasurer copies of the decision of the Committee of Adjustment.
Additional information regarding these applications will be available for public inspection at Development Services – Planning Division, Lindsay Service Centre, 180 Kent Street West, Lindsay, Ontario during regular office hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
