Partnership announced today confirms large commercial development in Lindsay
KAWARTHA LAKES—Today Mayor Andy Letham and City staff joined representatives from Mason Homes as they announced a partnership with Craft Development Corporation for the development of the commercial lands at Highway 35 and Colborne Street in Lindsay.
Craft Development Corporation has been working with a large retail anchor tenant to occupy space that will be approximately 100,000 square feet in size. Craft and Mason Homes have been working diligently together and Craft is well underway in the process of due diligence with tenants for the commercial project. The two companies are jointly working on finalizing a detailed commercial site plan that is designed to fit within the broader community.
Earthworks is anticipated to commence in the summer of 2017 on the entire residential and commercial site, with construction of the commercial lands and buildings to follow in 2018. In keeping with a project of this scale, the estimated timeline until retailers open their doors is 2 years.
Once completed, the entire development is anticipated to employ 350 to 450 full and part-time employees.
“This is a milestone in our City’s development. It represents years of investment and planning that was necessary to attract Craft and Mason Homes to our area. I’m thrilled that this partnership has been announced and trust that we are well on our way to a new era of development in Kawartha Lakes,” commented Mayor Andy Letham.
Ashley Mason, Vice President, Mason Homes noted, “We are excited to be finalizing our site plan with Kawartha Lakes and we appreciate the tremendous coordinated effort from all parties involved.”
