Kawartha Lakes - To protect the integrity of the municipality's road network, Kawartha Lakes is imposing load restrictions on most secondary roads throughout the municipality effective 12am on Monday March 1, 2022. Road conditions will be continually monitored and the restrictions will be lifted when road conditions merit.
Restrictions are typically put into place during the spring thaw in accordance with By-Law 2016-062, when road damage is most likely to occur due to heavy loading. This program identifies and imposes load restrictions on roads, or portions of roads that are weakened by excess water in the road base. Once the road has been determined to be structurally sound, load restrictions will be rescinded.
