Routine Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Flushing Continues - September 25, 2019

Note saying important notice

Kawartha Lakes - Routine sanitary sewer flushing and watermain flushing continue in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls.

Watermain flushing is necessary to remove sediment that gradually deposits in the pipes. There may be brief periods of time when your water becomes cloudy or discoloured; please check your drinking, cooking and laundry water before using. To clear your water simply let your cold water tap run for a few minutes until the water is clear. In addition, temporary pressure fluctuations during the flushing process may be experienced.

Sanitary sewer flushing can cause a bubbling or vacuum effect in drains and toilets. Keeping all toilet seats closed and covering floor drains is recommended. Should you notice any odour, please run the water in your sinks and floor drains to refill plumbing traps that may have been drained during the flushing process.
