Routine Watermain Flushing

Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes would like to inform residents that crews will be flushing watermains in the below systems starting September 10, 2018 daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Watermain flushing will continue until November 23, 2018.

The flushing of watermains is necessary to remove sediment that gradually deposit in the water pipes. There may be brief periods when your water becomes cloudy or discoloured. To clear your water lines, simply let your cold water tap run until the water flows clear. Please check your drinking, cooking and laundry water before using. There may also be temporary pressure fluctuations during flushing.

Fall Flushing Schedule

Completion dates are dependent upon factors such as weather and although the City will do its best to maintain this schedule, dates may change. We will list any changes on the City’s website as well as on the City’s Twitter account - @kawarthalakes.

Please note that watermain flushing in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls begins on September 10, 2018. Crews will be working throughout the day in Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls and both day and night shifts in Lindsay until the routine watermain flushing is completed.
