Notice of Public Information Sessions

Kawartha Lakes - Kawartha Lakes Planning Division would like to invite residents, business owners, and associations to a Public Information Session to receive your input into the development of a New Consolidated Rural Zoning By-law.

What is the purpose of this meeting?

The municipality has retained WSP, a planning consulting company, to assist with this Project. WSP and the Planning Division will be taking a close look at the current 13 rural Zoning By-laws and will be working to consolidate all regulations into one New Rural Zoning By-law over the next two years.

This first phase of this Project is to gather ideas, concerns, and issues with the current By-laws in place. Four Public Information Sessions are being held throughout Kawartha Lakes in order for residents to come out and provide feedback. The Project Team will be available for questions and comments during the meetings. You can also visit the Zoning By-law Project webpage for information and to provide your input at www.kawarthalakes.ca/zoningbylawproject.

What is a Zoning By-law? The Zoning By-law is the City’s primary tool to regulate the use of land in the City. The Zoning By-law divides all land in the City into various zone categories (e.g., residential, agricultural, commercial), establishes what uses are permitted and identifies standards about the location, massing and height of buildings and structures.
