Seasonal road curbside collection ends October 29

Kawartha Lakes - Reminder that seasonal road waste and recycling collection ends October 29, 2021. For a list of all roads with alternative winter set out locations, please click here.

If you receive year-round curbside waste and recycling collection on a private seasonal road, please ensure your road is plowed and sanded as required, or curbside collection will not continue until winter maintenance occurs.

Seasonal collection will resume the first week of May, 2022.

In general, all private, seasonal and unassumed roads will receive curbside collection provided that the road is accessible to a curbside collection vehicle and maintained to the following standards:

- Snow ploughed to a minimum of 3 metres (10 feet) width
- Sand and salt applied during icy conditions
- Vegetation cut back to five metres (15 feet) height and four metres (12 feet) width
- All potholes, cracks and grading shall be repaired as directed and to a standard to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Works and his or her designate
- Must have an appropriate location for a truck to turn around. Turn arounds can be situated on private lands with permission from the land owner.
