Shark Assault details the true story of Nicole Moore, a nurse from Orangeville, Ontario, who was savagely attacked twice by a bull shark while standing waist-deep in the ocean at a resort in Cancun, Mexico. Moore came close to dying, losing more than 60% of her blood, and as a result of the attacks, her left arm was amputated and she nearly lost her leg. These developments, and more, are covered in the book.
"What readers find really striking about this story is Nicole's strength of mind," comments Jennings. “Not only did she survive the brutality of the shark strikes, she also overcame some miserable incidents in her youth that would have sidelined most of us. She's quite amazing."
