Specialty Swim Camps return to Lindsay Recreation Complex

Mermaid Swim at Camp

Mermaid SwimKawartha Lakes - The Kawartha Lakes Parks and Recreation Division is pleased to welcome the return of specialty Swim Camps to their Summer Day Camp programming.

Speciality Swim Camps are intended for campers 8 through 12 years of age and focus on further developing swimming, leadership skills and promote safe water fun. All Swim Camps are based out of the Lindsay Recreation Complex and run daily from 8:30am to 4:30pm on the specified weeks.

Swim Lesson Camp: Swim Lesson Camp will provide daily swimming lessons with a Certified Swim Instructor in addition to all of the fun and activities of Sports Camp. Swim Lesson Camp will run July 18 through July 22 and July 25 through July 29.

Swim Mix Camp: Swim Mix Camp is the perfect Camp for water lovers. In addition to Sports Camp activities, campers will participate in an hour per day of pool time exploring and learning new water activities including, Mermaid Swimming, Water Polo, Diving, Underwater Snorkeling and more. Swim Mix Camp will run August 2 through August 5.

Junior Lifeguard Camp: Based on the Lifesaving Society’s Junior Lifeguard Program, Junior Lifeguard Camp features one hour of aquatic training per day. During this time, campers will work to improve their swimming abilities, learn lifesaving skills and knowledge; plus develop teamwork and leadership skills. Participants will leave Camp with First Aid training and their very own Junior Lifeguard Singlet. Junior Lifeguard Camp will run August 8 through August 12.

Please note, in order to attend either the Swim Mix Camp or the Junior Lifeguard Camp, campers must have completed Swim Level 5 or equivalent. Campers unsure whether they have the equivalent skills to a Level 5 swimmer are encouraged to e-mail: aquatics@kawarthalakes.ca to arrange a swim test prior to registering for Camp.

In addition to the specialty Swim Camps, there are plenty of other Day Camps being offered including, Sport and Swing Golf Camp, Sports Camp, Junior Explorers and Create and Play Camp. To learn more visit the Camps page.

Registration for Summer Camps is now open and takes place through the Kawartha Lakes Online Program Registration website.
