Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes Emergency Operations Centre met this morning to assess ongoing storm recovery efforts. Please see below for the latest updates on services, openings and closures.

Key Priorities

  • Hydro One Restoration: Hydro One power restoration continues to be the number one priority for health and safety of residents. Approximately half of the City is without power. The City is in close and direct contact with Hydro One to address high priority infrastructure such as cell towers for 9-1-1, community centres for warming rooms, water and wastewater plants, and gas/groceries for communities without power. Hydro One is targeting to restore power in most urban centres by the end of the week, rural areas could be longer.
    • Freezing Rain Alert: Significant rain and freezing conditions expected later today into tomorrow. Prepare for potential flooding. Flood safety tips here.
