Temporary closure of Laxton landfill

Kawartha Lakes – The Laxton landfill located at 3225 Monck Rd in Norland will be closed temporarily effective March 29. The unexpected closure is due to a recent washout of the access road, causing hazardous road conditions.

A contractor will be onsite over the course of next week to ensure the road infrastructure is fixed and is deemed safe for public use. The site is expected to re-open April 11, unless otherwise noted.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask that if you plan on visiting a landfill site within the next week, to please visit one of our other locations in Kawartha Lakes.

Landfill locations and hours of operation:

• Lindsay Ops landfill: 51 Wilson Road.
  Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8am to 5pm. Open Saturdays from 8am to 3pm.
• Eldon landfill: 311 Rockview Road.
  Open Wednesdays from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 11am to 5pm.
• Somerville landfill: 381 Ledge Hill Road.
  Open Mondays and Fridays from 11am to 5pm
• Fenelon landfill: 341 Mark Road.
  Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm.
