“The replacement of the Rainbow Pedestrian Bridge has been a long time coming. The previous version of the bridge was installed around 1946. The new bridge pays respect to the old bridge by maintaining the rainbow shape, while providing a safer and more accessible pedestrian bridge for the community,” said Deputy Mayor Charlie McDonald.
Project updates can be found on the municipality’s Major Projects page, www.kawarthalakes.ca/majorprojects.
EDIT: This news release originally stated that the Mayor would be at the event, please note that he will not be attending the ribbon cutting.
