Public invited to participate in the Building a Better Kawartha Lakes With You Survey
Kawartha Lakes – The City of Kawartha Lakes is in the process of creating a Youth and Young Adult Strategy to facilitate youth attraction and retention in Kawartha Lakes. To guide the creation of this strategy, a survey has been released for residents of Kawartha Lakes to provide feedback on their interests, aspirations and priorities, both personal and for the community as a whole. To complete the survey, visit the City website.
“Youth are a key stakeholder in this goal and asking youth for input is a key component in achieving this goal,” says Denise Williams, Acting Manager of Economic Development. “We are excited to hear what they have to say.”
The survey is available on the City of Kawartha Lakes website and will take between three to five minutes to complete. Everyone who completes the survey will be entered to win one of five prizes of approximately $20 value from the City of Kawartha Lakes, including hats, water bottles and travel mugs.
The development of a youth strategy is supported by the City of Kawartha Lakes Strategic Plan, which identifies the creation and implementation of an Economic Development Strategy as a top priority. One of the five key goals in the current Economic Development Strategy is to attract and retain a new generation of great entrepreneurs and workforce.
Increasing the number of youth in Kawartha Lakes is important to the City workforce and to support the economy, but is equally as important to enhance community culture and quality of life. Creation of a youth attraction and retention strategy is the first step to creating a youth-friendly Kawartha Lakes.
