Concerts in the Park

The Parks and Recreation Division in partnership with the Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce are pleased to host the annual summer Concerts in the Park Series!

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us at Victoria Park located at 210 Kent Street West in Lindsay for free outdoor live music. Concerts in the Park will happen Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings during July and August.

  • Sundays from 2pm to 4pm.
  • Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm.

The 2025 series will feature an open mic concert once per month. These shows will provide aspiring performers the opportunity to display their talent in three songs or less during a 15 minute set. 

Please note: Parks and Recreation can provide a Public Address (PA) System, but performers will be required to provide any additional equipment required for their performance.

2025 Performer Biographies

Joe Dehann
Wednesday July 2, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm.

Born and raised in Lindsay, Ontario Canada and now residing in Newcastle, Ontario Joe DeHaan has always had a love for music. From the Beatles to Wu-tang Clan, Joe appreciates it all. Being inspired by the Durham and Kawartha punk rock scene, Joe decided to pick up the guitar at the age of 19 and never looked back.

Playing a range of folk and punk rock covers from such artists as Frank Turner, Tim Vantol Joey Cape, Amigo the Devil, Elliott Brood, and with a few originals of his own Joe DeHaan delivers a melodic folk punk rock performance that is delivered from the heart and soul.

 

Jay Ezs
Sunday July 6, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm.

Jay Ezs is a local country artist, singer, songwriter and producer. In addition to being an accomplished guitar player covering all styles from 80's Rock to Spanish to Blues and Country, Jay is also a solo vocal/guitarist performing locally across the Kawartha’s, GTA and surrounding regions and recording and producing from his studio in Lindsay. Jay is also a professional vocalist for 'Jukebox Heroes' performing to crowds all across North America.


Parker Boulevard (Blvd) House Band
Sunday July 13, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm.

Parker Blvd. House Band is a musical group that has combined, over 150 years of musical experience and includes all styles of music from the 1950's to present day. Although the guest members come and go, the core members and high quality sound remains the same and provides great entertainment for all ages.

 

Derrick Seed

Derrick Seed is a talented country and rock musician from Lindsay, Ontario. Known for his energetic performances and versatile sound, Derrick has been a staple in the local music scene, playing in bars across the Kawarthas Lakes. With a passion for connecting with audiences, he blends classic country roots with rock influences to create an unforgettable live experience. Join Derrick for a night of great music at the Concert in the Park!

 

Ralph Thrun
Wednesday July 23, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm.

Ralph Thrun is a musician who is relatively new to the Kawartha music scene. Ralph has been playing guitar and singing for over 50 years but just recently put himself out there in local venues in Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls and Peterborough. He enjoys playing songs that people can sing along to like Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, CCR, Zac Brown to name a few.


Doug Mackenzie
Sunday July 27, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm.

Hailing originally from Toronto, Doug is a self-taught musician playing six and 12 string ovation guitars. While not a prolific writer, he found enough original songs to complete an album entitled ‘More Love to Begin’, released in 2018. This concert will feature folk songs, easy listening, some originals and singer/songwriter favourites. CD's will also be available for purchase.

 

Electric City Swing Band
Wednesday July 30, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm.

Electric City Swing Band (EC Swing) is a 17 piece big band based out of Peterborough, Ontario and have been around for over 15 years. They play swing, rock, latin and various other types of music depending on the venue.

The band is made up of five saxes, four trombones, four trumpets and the rhythm section being piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums... 17 members who enjoy entertaining crowds.

 

Deez Guys
Sunday August 10, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm.

Dennis French, Joe McCool, Steve Hainer, Craig Schroter and Rowan  Hinds currently reside all over the Kawartha Lakes region. They play together for the sheer enjoyment of it. "On any given day you might hear ZZ Top, Tragically Hip, Dwight Yoakam, The Doors, Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa....just depends what we feel like playing that day!"

 

Jake Norris and the Side Street Band

Lindsay's very own Jake Norris and the Side Street Band, offer a fun and entertaining mix of Classic Rock and a little bit of Country with a twist.

Lead vocalist, Jake Norris along with Jeremy VanHalteren on lead guitar, Rev. Andrew White playing rhythm and acoustic guitar, Brett McDonnell rocking the bass and Jody Anderson keeping beat on drums, this talented group of musicians will have you dancing and singing along to every song!

 

Amanda and Jonny B

This brother and sister duo will not disappoint you! Amanda plays guitar and piano while her voice will have you in constant amazement! John is an extremely skilled guitarist and also plays the piano! Performing all genres of music, this show is suitable for all ages.

Bombshell Deluxe

Linda ‘Pinky’ Brown and Gerald Van Halteren

Linda "Pinky" Brown is the founder of iPinkySwear (I Pinky Swear). She shows as much dedication to her music as she does to her cause and community.

Gerald Van Halteren and Pinky have been performing together for many years. These two definitely know how to keep you entertained with their wide variety of music, and instruments. You never know what to expect from these two!

Performance Opportunities

We are always looking for new local talent for future Concerts in the Park performances.

We've planned a total of 15 concerts to be held this summer at the Frank Banks Gazebo in Victoria Park located at 210 Kent Street West in Lindsay. Concerts will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm and Sunday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm during the months of July and August (weather permitting).
