Concerts in the Park

COVID-19 Update: It is with great sadness we announce the cancellation of the 2020 Concerts in the Park Series. The safety and well-being of our performers, staff, families and community is our top priority. For more information on affected municipal services visit the COVID page.

Check out our Virtual Concerts in the Park Series. New videos will be posted Wednesdays and Sundays during July and August on the City of Kawartha Lakes Parks, Recreation and Culture Facebook page.

2020 marks the 29th anniversary of our annual summer Concerts in the Park series.

Concerts in the Park provides community members with free outdoor concerts during the summer months. These family oriented concerts provide an opportunity to develop community spirit while enjoying and supporting local musicians.

All concerts take place at the Frank Banks Gazebo in Victoria Park, downtown Lindsay. Concerts are on Wednesday evenings from 7pm-9pm and Sunday afternoons from 2pm-4pm during July and August.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us for live entertainment this summer.

Band Biographies
 Gary Peters

Gary Peters is a local musician who has performed in the Series for many years. Gary enjoys playing at numerous venues in Lindsay, Oshawa, Woodville, Marmora and throughout the GTA.  Gary’s repertoire is all country and much of its traditional, satisfying crowds who come to listen to his music.

 Beverly Jeeves

Returning for another Concerts in the Park Series, Beverly Jeeves is a solo performer and teacher in Kawartha Lakes.  Beverly loves to share the stage with fellow performers and build the story telling experience for the audience through words and instruments.  Beverly is a fan of all music but her heart lies in folk music. Beverly and her guitar are tuned and ready for an evening of musical stories.

 Depot Dave

New to the Concerts in the Park Series, Depot Dave performs Piedmont Blues style music originating from the Southeastern regions of the United States.  In addition to the guitar, Dave also plays Cajun Accordion.  Inspired by the styles of country blues artists like Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Brownie McGhee, and old time country folk style of Doc Watson, Hank Williams Sr, and Jimmie Rogers. This show is bound embrace the tradition of old time songsters and bring the tradition to a new generation of audiences.

Husband and wife duo Armand and Juanita have performed in the Concerts in the Park Series for many years. They perform a mix of country, some 50's and 60's, and maritime Irish music. With years of experience, north and south, Seabreeze appeal to all ages; it is bound to be hard to keep your feet still during this fun concert!

 Parker Blvd House Band

With over 140 years of combined performing experience these newcomers to the Series present a program that reflects the Toronto Top 40 music scene from the 50’s through the 80’s. Each musician has performed in musical styles that include, Soul, Rock, Pop, Classical, Country and Jazz to mention a few.

The band consists of John Vincent (guitar and vocals, Andy Smits (multi-instruments and vocals), Paul Parker (drums, lap steel and vocals) and the Taylors back up percussion.

 Hot Music Jam - Lindsay Seniors House Band

New to the Concerts in the Park Series, The Lindsay Seniors House Band is the louder of the two music jams in the Lindsay Seniors Association that take place at the Victoria Park Armoury.

Featuring, Paul Parker on drums/vocals, Blaine Kremer (bass),Allison Kremer (piano/vocals), Andy Smits (accordion/piano/harmonica/vocals), Richard Neal (guitar/ vocals), John Parnall (guitar/piano/uke/train whistle/ percussion) and Mil Sepic (guitar/banjo/vocals).

This group is bound to perform all of your favourites ranging from, Country, Cajun, Show Tunes, Rock and much more!

Lindsay Seniors House Band - CITP

 The Nathan Bottomley Band

Joining the Concerts in the Park Series for another Summer, The Nathan Bottomley Band was formed in February 2017 following Nathan's solo career. They have played a number of shows all over the Kawarthas. This year, they return to Concerts in the Park to perform an assortment of Rock and Pop tunes as well as a number of originals. The band's influences include Ed Sheeran, Elton John, the Beatles, John Mayer, and the Arkells. The band features Martin Brien, Nick Peeters, Hunter Peeters and Nathan Bottomley.

Nathan Bottomley Band - CITP

 JD Sautner Band

Returning to the Concerts in the Park Series, the JD Sautner Band is a 4 piece band touring around southern Ontario, playing song favourites from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Working on a second CD Album, this group is comprised of Joe Harrison (Guitar and back up vocals), Joel Lavigne (Bass), Bob Sautner (Drums) and John D Sautner (Guitar and vocals). This show will be an afternoon of great easy listening music.

 Amanda & John

New to the Concerts in the Park Series, Amanda and John are a local brother and sister duo. Amanda,16 and John, 14 have been performing together for the past two years all over the Kawarthas as well as other regions.  Join them on their journey as they have set their goals and hope to make a career out of performing.

 Garage Escape

Returning to the Concerts in the Park Series for another summer, Garage Escape has been playing live music together for a long time. Their genres include classic rock, country, blues and what ever sounds good. Eagles, CCR, Beatles, Chris Stapleton and Blue Rodeo are the primary musical influences of the group. Members include, Don (guitar / Vocals), Mike (Harmonica / vocals),  Derrick (Bass / vocals), Dave (drums) and a new to the group Paul (Lead Guitar).

 Brian Wride

New to the Concerts in the Park Series, Brian Wride is an accomplished finger style guitarist with a "voice like a minor key" who teaches music from his home in Uxbridge, Ontario. While his passion is for music education, he rarely passes up an opportunity to battle stage fright. Brian plays a mix of acoustic music ranging from guitar instrumentals to folky interpretations of classic rock to obscure Canadiana.

 Douglas MacKenzie

New to the Concerts in the Park Series, Douglas MacKenzie is a self-taught musician playing 6 and 12 string Ovation guitars. Having performed at some local venues in the past for the Kitchen Party Music Jams, and returning to the Boiling Over's Coffee Vault, he has developed several musical friendships in the Kawartha Lakes area. Covering mostly Folk, Folk/Rock, Country and Singer/Songwriter genres, you're sure to find some favourites in his performance.

Max & His One Man Band
New to the Concerts in the Park Series, Max & His One Man Band are best describe as music for all occasions. Max and his sidekick keyboard have been performing toe tapping, finger snapping tunes in and around the Kawarthas for twenty odd years. A little blues...a little jazz...a little country..a little R&R, there is bound to be something for every musical taste! As an added attraction, Max will be joined by guest performers, the always entertaining and popular, Kawartha Country Cloggers!

New to the Concerts in the Park Series, Hitcher plans on bringing you a high energy show featuring all the songs you love. Lead singer Darryl Aspin commands the stage and shows his passion and fun playing with every song. With Mike Rewegan rocking on Lead Guitar, Adam Sweeney bringing the boom on bass and Rick Knoester powering the beat on drums, this band is not to be missed. Playing Rock, Alternative, Power pop and even a wee bit of country.

Last Call

Returning to the Concerts in the Park Series, this concert will feature Last Call with Rick and guests Live-Still!  This group of talented retired musicians have been drawn together by their common interest of good music and great people. This concert will feature a mix of all genres of music.

This show will feature something for everyone and guarantees to be an evening of laughs, sing-alongs and great music.Warning, toe tapping and singing can be expected!

 SideStreet Band

Returning for another Summer to the Concerts in the Park Series, Jake Norris and the SideStreet Band entertain listeners with a high energy mix of classic rock, country and blues. Playing the bar circuit as well as private events throughout the Kawartha and Durham regions, this group of talented musicians have as much chemistry on the stage as they do off as their solid friendship shines through. 

The group features Jake Norris (lead vocals), Jeremy VanHalteren (lead guitar), Joe Wareham (rhythm guitar), Caleb VanHalteren (bass and vocals), and Rick Knoester (drums and vocals)
