Concerts in the Park

2020 marks the 29th anniversary of our annual summer Concerts in the Park series.

Concerts in the Park provides community members with free outdoor concerts during the summer months. These family oriented concerts provide an opportunity to develop community spirit while enjoying and supporting local musicians.

All concerts take place at the Frank Banks Gazebo in Victoria Park, downtown Lindsay. Concerts are on Wednesday evenings from 7pm-9pm and Sunday afternoons from 2pm-4pm during July and August.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us for live entertainment this summer.

L'll Big Band - Wednesday, July 3, 2019

The "L'll Big Band" is now enjoying in its 19th year of bringing the big band sound to the Kawarthas! This 18 piece jazz ensemble is modelled after the instrumentation of the wonderful bands popular in the Big Band Era. The "L'll Big Band" will play hits of the era using arrangements made famous by great band leaders such as Count Basie, Stan Kenton and Duke Ellington. Dancing is not only allowed, but encouraged!

Last Call Entertainment - Sunday, July 7, 2019

Join us for 2 hours of non stop classic songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's mixed in with some of today's hits! If you enjoy Gordon Lightfood, Jim Croce, Neil Diamon, Roger Miller, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, CCR, Ian Tyson, Anne Murray, George Strait....the list goes on and on then you will enjoy this show. Last Call Entertainment features Rick and guests. This show comes with a warning, that toe tapping, singing and laughing for an extended period of time may cause wrinkles!

If you enjoy the sounds of Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine, the Good Brothers, Crosby, Stills and Nash with a few originals thrown in then you will love Red, White and Ace.  The group features “Red” John Gemmill (12-string guitar/vocals), Geoff White (6-string guitar/vocals and Len “Ace” Parker (Bass guitar/vocals).

With an energetic voice that demands to be heard as well as honest, soulful lyrics meant to tear at the heart strings, Brooklin, Ontario based country singer/songwriter Barbara Lynn Doran unleashes an auditory feast for her fans. 

Along with recording three albums, Barbara has most notably been placed on the Nashville Songwriters Association’s 2014 “One’s To Watch” list, has been a semi-finalist in the International Song writing Competition for two years in a row; a finalist in the Great American Song writing Competition; she has three new singles planned for release in 2019.

Beverly Jeeves - Sunday, July 28, 2019

Beverly Jeeves has been performing since her early teens on the guitar, ukulele, piano and vocals.   Influenced by Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Sam Cooke, Dan MacLean and Janis Joplin - it was the message and story of the song that inspired Beverly to perform and write. Beverly grew up in Nova Scotia, and memories of being at her Grandfather’s house in Glacé Bay with the kitchen filled with fiddles, guitars, storytellers and songs will be stage of her performance.

Beverly is a Music Teacher in Fenelon Falls who’s passion is to pass on the love and respect of Music.

At this performance Beverley will be joined by members of Fenelon Live Musicians, join them for an afternoon of storytelling through song and join in with your voice.

Nathan Bottomley Band - Wednesday, July 31, 2019

The Nathan Bottomley Band formed in February 2017 following Nathan's solo career. They have played a number of shows all over the Kawarthas. This year, they return to Concerts in the Park to perform an assortment of Rock and Pop tunes as well as a number of originals. The band's influences include Ed Sheeran, Elton John, the Beatles, John Mayer, and the Arkells. The band features Martin Brien, Cole Hallman, and Hunter Peeters.

Courtney Bowles - Sunday, August 4, 2019

Courtney is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter based in Southern Ontario. A proud Canadian songwriter, Courtney performs different genres of music with a focus on Popular and Country Music. She sings and plays Piano and Guitar. Her goal is to share her enthusiasm for life by creating amazing memories and extraordinary music. Her audiences are entertained by her energetic personality, wide vocal range and heartfelt songs. Courtney is currently a Music Teacher at the School of Rock located in Markham Ontario. She teaches Vocal and Keyboard, instructing on ‘performance’ for the many ages of students.

John Sautner - Sunday, August 11, 2019

Performing 70’s, 80’s and 90’s easy listening classic rock. This group is comprised of JD Sautner, vocals and guitar; Bob Sautner, Drums; Joe Harrison, Vocals and guitar; Joel Lavigne, BASS guitar. With the release of their original album, 50 Begins in 2018 this band loves performing and does so regularly throughout Southern Ontario.

The Maevens - Wednesday, August 14, 2019

Originally a Toronto based Folk-Rock band formed in 2004, influenced by artists such as Kathleen Edwards, Lucinda Williams and Sarah Harmer, lead singer/songwriter and guitarist Kelly Burrows moved back to the Kawartha Lakes in 2008. The band continued to play for a few years and took a hiatus to raise families and pursue individual musical projects.

Recently, the band reunited to perform several special events and is rounded out by members Jason Lapidus (bass /vocals), Myke Mazzei (lead guitar/vocals) and Graydon James (drums/vocals).

The Maevens have played in a variety of formations over the past several years and delight audiences everywhere they play with their earthy and thoughtful originals and crowd pleasing covers.

Dig The Moon is a trio based in Fenelon Falls, Ontario. They play a wide variety of music, with influences from folk, rock, country, jazz, and blues. No matter what they sing and play, vocal harmonies are a feature of their music. They love to entertain, and for their audience to have fun!

The REACHERS - Wednesday, August 21, 2019

The REACHERS are a Lindsay based band, consisting of members of CMHA HKPR’s REACH for Recovery Centre. The band showcases their musical talent; defies stigmas associated with mental health challenges and instills hope for recovery. The REACHERS perform original songs along with a wide variety of cover music, ranging from the 60’s to now.

Jake Norris and the SideStreet Band - Wednesday, August 28, 2019

Lindsay’s Jake Norris and the SideStreet Band entertain listeners with a high energy mix of Rock, Country and Blues. Playing the bar circuit and private events throughout the Kawartha and Durham regions, the group's chemistry both on and off stage have earned them a dedicated local following.

Lead Vocalist, Jake Norris is sure to catch your attention with his distinctive voice and unmistakable stage presence. Sharing Lead and Rhythm Guitar duties, the talented duo of Joe Wareham and Jeremy VanHalteren delight the crowd with captivating solo performances and their flair for making each song their own. Youngest member, Caleb VanHalteren mesmerizes with his smooth Bass Guitar and Back-up Vocals while Lightning Larry Parker's Percussion keeps toes tapping all night long. The Band's shared passion for music shines through as they cover a diverse range of well loved artists including everything from The Hip, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Elvis to Merle Haggard and The Black Keys.
