The Kawartha Lakes Sponsorship and Dedication Program offers a unique way to memorialize a loved one and to give back to the community by enhancing the growth and beautification of local parks and trails. This program offers a way for individuals to honour the memory of a loved one who has passed away, pay tribute to a dedicated service member, celebrate a special milestone or event among many other reasons.

Adopt a Trail |
Please note, the Adopt a Trail program is currently on hiatus until further notice. The Adopt a Trail program offers the opportunity for individuals and organizations to contribute to the community and become recognized for their efforts towards a clean and healthy trail network. Groups, schools, individuals and corporate organizations are encouraged to adopt a selected trail or area for a minimum of three years and visit the trail at least twice each year to help keep it clean. A sign will be erected on the trail bearing the name of the group or individual as recognition for the valuable contribution to our community. Municipal staff will help you select an appropriate section of trail to adopt. To learn more about the Adopt a Trail program contact the Community Development Coordinator. |
Dedicate a Park Bench |
Many people have a favourite park that holds special meaning to them. A dedication bench is a way to pay tribute to someone special or to inscribe a positive message that will add uniqueness to the community and provide a tranquil place to stop and rest. Park bench dedication projects include a park bench, personalized inscription plaque on the bench, concrete slab placed under the bench, installation and future maintenance. Is there a park bench in a municipal park or open space that holds special meaning to you? opportunities exist to dedicate an existing bench as well. Park bench dedication projects are income tax deductible. Donors will receive a charitable donations receipt upon project completion. Dedicate a Tree |
Trees filter our air, reduce soil erosion and water pollution, provide us with shade and are a habitat for wildlife. A tree dedication is a meaningful way to express sympathy, offer congratulations, leave a legacy for the future and help improve our community. Dedication tree projects include the installation and maintenance of a tree. A personalized dedication marker will be placed by the tree with the message of your choice. NEW! Adopt a Fruit Tree Give back to the Community! The new Adopt a Fruit Tree program offers the opportunity for the dedication of a variety of fruit tree species in various locations throughout the community. The fruit that is harvested from these trees will then be shared with local food banks. Fruit trees also provide habitat, nectar and pollen to various species and will be added to the Bee City Kawartha Lakes Pollinator Pathway. The location and types of trees may vary, contact Staff to discuss. Dedication tree projects are income tax deductible. You will receive a charitable donations receipt upon project completion. NEW! Plant a Lilac Shrub |
Beautiful, colourful and fragrant, Lilacs offer the opportunity to contribute to the beautification of Logie Park by planting a Lilac Shrub in the Lilac Dedication Garden in memory of a loved one or to commemorate a special milestone. Please note: this dedication opportunity is exclusive to Logie Park in Lindsay only. In-take for this program takes place bi-annually during the spring and fall.
