Kawartha Lakes – The 2025 Kawartha Lakes Business Count is well underway. Thanks to strong participation and local support, 770 businesses have completed surveys to date. The project is well on track to reach the goal of 965 businesses participating across the municipality.

Since the start of the Kawartha Lakes Business Count Survey in 2021, the number of businesses reached has increased by an average of approximately 42% year-over-year, growing from 262 in 2021 to a goal of 965 in 2025. “It’s been great connecting with local businesses this summer as we conduct the 2025 Business Count Survey,” said, Jonah Neumann, Selina Linton, Rhys Walden, and Matthew Price, the Kawartha Lakes Business Count Survey team members.

As the Business Count enters its final phase, surveyors will continue to survey new areas and follow up with businesses that have not yet been reached or were unavailable during earlier visits. Surveying will continue weekly between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm until August 1.

Businesses are encouraged to take part in the survey to ensure their voices are heard and help inform future economic development initiatives in Kawartha Lakes. All businesses located in Kawartha Lakes are invited to participate online on the Kawartha Lakes Business Count web page, where they can complete the Business Count Survey.

For businesses that have requested the survey by email or provided contact information, emails have been sent. Please check your inbox for a link to complete the survey online at your earliest convenience.

The Kawaratha Lakes Business Count project is an initiative of the City of Kawartha Lakes and conducted in partnership with the Lindsay Downtown BIA and local Chambers of Commerce in Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, Coboconk & Norland, and Lindsay.
