Boil Water Advisory for the Sonya Drinking Water System has been rescinded

Kawartha Lakes - Tuesday April 1, 2025 at 2pm - The Boil Water Advisory (BWA) issued on Saturday, March 29, 2025 for the Sonya Drinking Water System located in the Hamlet of Sonya, Ontario has been rescinded by the Medical Officer of Health.

Persons using the water supply from the Sonya Drinking Water System are no longer required to boil their drinking water.  The water is safe for human consumption.

Note: The BWA was only rescinded for the Sonya Drinking Water System. Residents within the following Drinking Water Systems, are still under Boil Water Advisories:

Pinewood Drinking Water System, Pontypool

Norland Drinking Water System

Woodfield Drinking Water System, Bethany

Manorview Drinking Water System, Bethany

All other municipal drinking water systems in Kawartha Lakes remain operational and water is safe to drink.
