Celebrate Local Food Week in Kawartha Lakes: June 2 to 8, 2025

Kawartha Lakes – It’s time to celebrate the abundance of fresh, healthy food grown and produced right here in Ontario. Local Food Week 2025 runs from June 2 to 8, and we invite everyone to find local food!

Local Food Week is a chance to show our appreciation for the hard work of farmers and businesses who bring fresh food to our tables every day. It’s also a great time to explore the many farmers’ markets and local food options in Kawartha Lakes.

"When we buy local food, we’re supporting more than just a business. We’re investing in our farmers, our local economy, and the future of our communities,” said Kelly Maloney, Economic Development Officer - Agriculture, at Kawartha Lakes. “Every dollar spent on local food helps a farmer keep their land productive, helps a family keep their farm, and helps build a stronger, more connected community. It’s about fresh food, local pride, and making a difference right here at home."

• Farmers’ Markets across Kawartha Lakes are now open for the 2025 season.
• Visit your local farmers’ market this week to take home a free KCFF insulated grocery bag! Don’t be late. Quantities are limited.
