Delayed/Missed Waste and Recycling Collection - January 15, 2026

Kawartha Lakes – Due to the challenging road and weather conditions, some areas will not receive waste and recycling collection today.

What to do if your materials are missed

Recycling

To help Emterra communicate recycling collection delays, Circular Materials Ontario (CMO) is posting recycling service alerts on their website. If you think your road may have been missed for collection, please check CMO's website for more information: www.circularmaterials.ca/kawarthalakes

If recycling volumes become unmanageable in the meantime, residents may also bring accepted materials to Kawartha Lakes landfills during regular operating hours.

Please note: the Laxton landfill is closing at 2pm today due to the weather.

Garbage

If your garbage is missed, you will receive double garbage pick-up on your next waste collection day, meaning that you will be able to put out four bags (your garbage from last week plus your garbage for this week).

Miller Waste will be collecting until 7pm tonight. If your items aren't collected by then, please contact Miller Waste directly at 1-888-557-4711 or email kawarthalakes@millerwaste.ca.
