Honouring Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day 2025
Kawartha Lakes – Each year, on the final Sunday in September, the municipality pauses to honour Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day. This day is dedicated to remembering the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and to extending our deepest condolences to their families and colleagues.
We are grateful for the essential role police and peace officers play in protecting our community. Their courage and commitment are vital to the safety and well-being of all residents.
In recognition of this day, flags at all municipal buildings will be lowered on Sunday, September 28, 2025. A Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service will also take place on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
For more details about the national service, please visit the Canadian Police and Peace Officers' Memorial website: www.thememorial.ca.
