Kawartha Lakes 2026 load restrictions effective 12:00am Thursday March 5, 2026

Kawartha Lakes - To protect the integrity of the City’s road network, load restrictions will be imposed on roads throughout the municipality effective 12:00am Thursday March 5, 2026. Road conditions will be monitored continuously, and restrictions will be lifted when conditions permit.

The March 5 start date gives trucking companies and contractors time to plan ahead. The City may start restrictions earlier if the weather or road conditions require it.

Restrictions are put into place in accordance with By-Law 2022-190, when road damage is most likely to occur due to heavy loading. This program identifies and imposes load restrictions on roads, or portions of roads that are weaker due to excess water. 

Below is a list of roads that will not be load restricted.  All other roads will be in a load-restricted state per the date on this notice, in accordance with By-Law 2022-190.

Roads not subject to load restrictions:

Village of Bobcaygeon

All roads within the Village of Bobcaygeon limits, except the following, which are subject to half-load restrictions:

• Front Street West, Bobcaygeon – from Main Street to the west end

• West Street, Bobcaygeon – from Front Street West to North Street at CKL Road #8

• Cedartree Lane – from East Street to the east end

Road #49 – All

Road #36 – All

Village of Fenelon Falls
All roads within the Village of Fenelon Falls limits

Road #121 – All

Town of Lindsay
All roads within the Town of Lindsay limits

Wilson Road – From Road #36

Road #31 (Mount Horeb Road) – Young’s Pit (east) to Hwy #7

Lifford Road – Lafarge Pit Gate (west) to Porter Road

Porter Road – Lifford Road to Hwy #7A

Whiterock Road – Hwy #7 to Black School Road

Black School Road – Whiterock Road to Road #46

Taylor Road – Hwy #7 to Skyline Road

Road #46 – Hwy #7 to Road #9 (Woodville Road)

Road #9 (Woodville Road) – Road #46 (South) to Road #46 (North)
