Kawartha Lakes – As of Wednesday August 20, 2025, the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) reports that fires in Kawartha Lakes are:

The Burnt River area fire (HAL019) is classified as Out, the final stage of control, which describes a fire that has been extinguished.

The Kirkfield area fire (OFR001) is classified as Out, the final stage of control, which describes a fire that has been extinguished.

A City-wide Burn Ban is in effect. Any fire complaints for open air burning will be treated with zero tolerance.
