Kawartha Lakes recognizes Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day
Kawartha Lakes - Each year, on the final Sunday of September, the municipality takes a moment to honor and reflect on Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day. This day is dedicated to remembering the brave officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and to extending heartfelt condolences to their families.
We express our gratitude for the vital role that police and peace officers play in keeping our community safe. Their dedication and commitment are crucial in ensuring the well-being of all residents.
In recognition of this significant day, flags at municipal buildings will be lowered on September 30. Additionally, a Canadian Police and Peace Officers' Memorial Service will be held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario, on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
