Kawartha Lakes Ward 5 By-Election voting is open April 1 to 10
Kawartha Lakes – With the Ward 5 By-Election at our doorstep, please be advised of the following information and ensure you are prepared to vote for a new City Councillor.
Who can vote in the Ward 5 By-Election?
All residents of Ward 5 (including property owners, tenants, or boarders) who are Canadian Citizens, and will be at least 18 years old on April 10, 2025 may qualify as an elector in this by-election.
Electronic Voting
Council has approved electronic voting for the Ward 5 By-Election. Ward 5 voters will be able to vote online anywhere they have an internet connection. In-Person voting assistance is also available.
When is the voting period?
Similar to the 2022 municipal election, voters will be given 10 days to cast their vote. Voting opens Tuesday, April 1 at 9am and closes Thursday, April 10 at 8pm.
What do I need to vote?
Voting PIN Letters with access codes have been mailed as of March 14. If you did not receive your Voting PIN Letter in the mail by April 1, you may obtain one from the Election Office at City Hall (26 Francis Street, Lindsay) or online at www.kawarthalakes.ca/voterslist until April 9, 2025. On Election Day (April 10), electors should attend City Hall to obtain a PIN and ensure their vote counts. Remember to bring a valid piece of identification with you such as a Driver’s Licence or Ontario Photo Card proving your identity and address in Kawartha Lakes Ward 5.
In-person voting assistance
Voter assistance will be available during the voting period for electors that do not have access to the Internet. Voting assistance will also be provided to electors in qualified long-term care residences in Ward 5 during the voting period. Touch-Screen kiosks will be available during the hours noted below during the voting period (April 1-10) at the following City Buildings (bring your PIN letter with you).

Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm
Extended office hours:
Saturday, April 5, 2025 – 9:00am - 1:00pm
Election Day:
Thursday, April 10, 2025 – 8:30am - 8:00pm
Lindsay Library, 190 Kent Street West, Lindsay:
Monday to Thursday – 10:00am - 8:00pm
Friday to Saturday – 10:00am – 5:00pm
Election Day:
Thursday, April 10, 2025 – 10:00am - 8:00pm

The election results will be published in the hours after 8pm on April 10 on the election website kawarthalakes.ca/election.
