The Project

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has retained Egis to carry out the Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study for the replacement of structures, intersection improvements, realignment of Highway 35 between Colborne Street West and Highway 7 and widening of Highway 35 from two lanes to four/five lanes from Highway 7 to Thunder Bridge Road, located in the City of Kawartha Lakes. A key map of the study area is below.

The purpose of this notice is to invite interested stakeholders to participate in an in-person Public Information Centre (PIC). The PIC is being held to present the study process, outline the existing conditions, and receive input on the proposed improvements within the study area. This PIC will be an informal drop-in centre where representatives from MTO and Egis will be available to answer questions and discuss the project.

The Process

The Preliminary Design is following the approved planning process for a Group ‘B’ project in accordance with the Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000).
